The article highlights the importance of non-standard problems from the Kangaroo International Mathematical Olympiad for elementary grades, particularly for first-grade students, and the methodology for solving them. The possibilities of developing students' logical thinking, attention, and imagination, as well as stimulating interest in mathematics through the use of non-standard problems in the educational process, are explored. The article analyzes types of non-standard problems corresponding to the topics of the 1st-grade mathematics textbook (aimed at strengthening memory and developing imagination) with examples. The importance of attentiveness, systematic approach, and logical thinking when solving Kangaroo Olympiad problems is emphasized.
