This article examines the pedagogical significance of developing civic
competence in a socially active individual. In particular, the author emphasizes the
significant role of society in enhancing an individual's social activity and highlights the
importance of the conditions created by the state to support this process. Furthermore, the
article points out that fostering the concept of social activity in an individual's consciousness
requires a high level of professional competence from educators. It also stresses the
necessity of establishing close cooperation between teachers and students in the process of
developing civic competence.
