This article analyzes the popularization of the “art” theme in Uzbek poetry of the 1970s-1980s and the renewal of literary thought during this period. The author consistently examines the factors that contributed to the widespread incorporation of the art theme in poetry.
As emphasized in the article, the political and social changes that occurred in Turkestan society at the beginning of the 20th century, along with the introduction of a new way of life under the influence of Tsarist Russia, laid the groundwork for profound transformations in the consciousness and thinking of the people. This process accelerated the socialization of lyric poetry.
The author characterizes the 1960s-1980s as a new stage in the history of Uzbek art, substantiating that the rise of painting, theater, cinema, music, and other fields had a direct influence on poetry. Two main reasons are identified for the popularization of the art theme in poetry: first, the various fields of art reaching the peak of their development during that period; and second, the synthesis of poetry with other art forms.
The article analyzes a vivid example of the synthesis of painting and poetry based on Khurshid Davron’s poem “Art.” Through this poem, the author demonstrates the poet’s personal artistic universality and his mastery of subtly expressing social grief through the medium of art.
